Over 6 Meters Tall! Traditional Samurai Nobori – Made in Japan

What is a Musha Nobori (Samurai Banner)?

A Musha Nobori is a traditional Japanese decorative banner that features images of heroic samurai warriors, mythological figures, or legendary heroes. These striking banners are especially displayed during Tango no Sekku (Children’s Day) on May 5th, to celebrate the healthy growth, strength, and courage of boys.

Historically, Musha Nobori were flown outdoors on tall poles—often over 6 meters high—alongside carp streamers (koinobori) and family crests. The samurai depicted on these banners symbolize bravery, protection, and the noble spirit, making them a powerful and meaningful decoration.

Each banner is beautifully designed with vivid colors, dynamic poses, and traditional motifs, reflecting the artistry of Japanese festival culture. Today, they are treasured not only as festive items but also as cultural and collectible works of art.

Dimensions:
Length: 6.3 meters
Width: 84 cm

This is an original made in the early Showa period.
Due to the nature of the materials and dyes, washing is not recommended as it may cause the colors to fade.

A bold and breathtaking piece of Japanese tradition.
